YOUNG CANADA WORKS

Building Careers in Heritage

2019-2020

 

A first-work experience in arts practice, cultural management or arts administration!

Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage (YCWBCH), a paid internship program administered by the Cultural Human Resources Council, is funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage as part of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy. The internships provide a meaningful first-work experience for recent college and university graduates.

CHRC is seeking applications from employers in not-for-profit arts and culture organizations in Digital Media; Film and Broadcasting; Live Performing Arts; Music and Sound Recording; Visuals Arts and Crafts; Writing and Publishing; and Heritage.

As of December 15th, 2018, CHRC  will be accepting employers’ applications for the 2019-2020 program (one application per employer). Applications submitted before that date will not be considered. Deadline extended to February 11, 2019!.

YOUNG CANADA WORKS aims to promote skills development, knowledge of Canadian achievements in the cultural sector and cultural heritage, and to enhance the employability of internship participants. The duration of the internship is from 16 to 52 weeks. Please note that CHRC does not administer a Summer Job program.
