Live Performing Arts

> Background

The Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC) for many years considered the Live Performing Arts and Film and Television as a single "sub-sector". However, although they are still connected in many ways, in terms of skills transferability for example, and their self-employment characteristics, they do have distinct training needs and organizational structures. CHRC has therefore decided to consider them as separate cultural industries. This has the advantage of directing more specific attention to the training needs of each.

CHRC is working with a Steering Committee for Theatre Technicians on the development of competency charts and profiles for technical occupations in the Live Performing Arts. CHRC is also working with Presenters in a similar exercise.
